Civic Catalyst
Welcome to Civic Catalyst. This is an incubation hub clustered into 2 tracks of work to build strong advocacy organisations and strengthen their advocacy movements. Within the program, you can look forward to:
- Incubation to build effective and sustainable advocacy and activist platforms.
- Training on advocacy and civic engagement.
- Dialogues on what should be done including how to surface opportunities for collective action and how to engage with power.

- Materials and information shared in the Incubation Hub and on LearnDash should not be shared outside of the Group.
- Do not share the link and access to the LearnDash or the Incubation Hub with anyone outside of the PAL Group

Ashlee Nhliziyo
Bulawayo
Ashlee is an innovative young lady, who is an environmental, climate change and Sexual Reproductive Health advocate and activist currently working as a Programs Manager at Lunia Centre for Youth. She is dedicated to promoting sustainable lifestyles and protecting the planet for future generations. Ashlee firmly believes that meaningful youth participation can lead to more effective adolescent SRHR programs and policies because young people are best able to voice their needs, realities, and opinions.


Chiedza Sasa
Harare
Chiedza Sasa is a 23-year-old Political Science and Diplomacy student at the University of Zimbabwe who is passionate about civic engagement at a local level. She is an avid reader who prefers indoors activities such as chess, debate and research yet she is in love with nature and the preservation of natural ecosystems and habitats.

Asher Mutandiro
Harare
Asher is a digital creative writer and blogger, who was also recognized as a 30 under 30 Award winner for Top Social Media Influence and Innovation in 2022. He is an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa (YALI) in the Civic Leadership Track for Cohort 16. Asher is also a University of Iowa International Writing Program Fellow. Additionally, he is a McKinsey & Company Forward Program alumnus and a three-time nominee for the Afro bloggers Best Creative Writing Award. He is also a member of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community for the Harare Hub.


Cloris Mashonga
Chitungwiza
Cloris holds a Bachelor of Social Work Honours Degree. She is passionate about enhancing young women’s participation in governance and accountability processes. She currently serves as a Gender and Social Inclusion Officer at Girls and Women Empowerment Network. She is a 2023 Alumni Accountaprenuer of Accountability Lab Zimbabwe. Cloris is currently implementing HERVOICE initiative in Chitungwiza which enhances young women’s participation in local decision-making spaces.

Tinashe Matika
Hwange
Tinashe is a human rights defender working extensively with the Youth in Hwange District on cultivating constitutionalism through public policy review, Youth-led Environmental and Public Finance Management capacity building trainings. He is affiliated with a host of Civic movements that include the Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association Youth Network, ActionAid Avista Youth Network, Transparency International Zimbabwe School of Integrity, Youth Empowerment and Transformative Trust and Youngo.


Tapiwanashe Hadzizi
Gweru
Tapiwanashe is a qualified, confident, results-orientated Sociologist. He is a team leader and Founder of Young Africa Intellectuals (YAL Group), a youth-led organization focusing on health communication and youth and women empowerment initiatives for social development through integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in marginalized or neglected communities.


Sheanesu Kwenda
Harare
Sheanesu is a dedicated activist with 6 years of experience at VISET, focusing on empowering marginalized communities. He works to ensure the inclusive participation of youths and women in development initiatives, believing in the power of entrepreneurship and research for transformation. Sheanesu collaborates with students, street vendors, and marginalized groups, providing tools for success. His motto is “service over self”, driving his passion for creating a more equitable society.


Makanaka Mavesere
Kadoma
Makanaka is a social entrepreneur with a vision to create a generation of young leaders. He is the Executive Director of Bringing Joy. Love. Life a civic society organization based in Kadoma, Zimbabwe that values Community Development and Youth Empowerment.


Karen Manzera
Harare
Karen is a Human Rights and pro-democracy activist currently working as an Advocacy Officer for a local youth organization. She is an award-winning Gender Champion and former Student leader. Karen is passionate about writing for social change and uses her skills to educate, inform and engage with people.


Juliet Mukoki
Bulawayo
Juliet is a Legal Practitioner who is a Women’s Human Rights Defender. She has worked with ZWLA for 21 years and is passionate about sensitizing women on their rights and how to demand said rights. Juliet has empowered women to self-represent in court in simple matters such as maintenance and domestic violence cases when they apply for Protection Orders. She is now embarking on a journey towards becoming a consultant amongst others.


Rudo Mukanganise
Harare
Rudo is a social worker who lives in Harare. She is a Human rights activist. She works with Zimbabwe Women Against Corruption Trust in Epworth.

Rumbidzai Chizarura
Harare
Rumbidzai is a member of Institute for Young Womens Development and Womens Democracy Network. She is also a social media content creator and journalist. Her mission is to speak on behalf of youths, single mothers and persons with disabilities. She hopes her advocacy can bring about change in a positive way for the targeted community and to be a good activist that yields results.


Jacqueline Ndlovu
Bulawayo
Jacqueline is a Women’s rights activist, passionate about enhancing Women’s participation in all Leadership spaces. She currently works at Women’s Institute for Leadership Development.


Tatenda Unika Kombora
Bulawayo
Unika is a young feminist, award winning Blogger, writer and development practitioner who believes that it is stories that change the world, and not people. She has served as host to the country’s biggest young people’s show on Television, Y.G.T (Young, Gifted and Talented). A recipient of the Africa24 Media House scholarship in Kenya and former producer and host to Currently On Her Throne, a political on CITE that spotlighted female politicians in the country.

Kumbirai Kahiya

Kumbirai is a Diversity, Gender Equality, and Social Inclusion specialist working to advance the rights of adolescent girls and young women in Zimbabwe through the Girls and Women Empowerment Network an organization she founded in 2015. Her experience in girls’ and women’s rights, civic education and engagement, community mobilization, social accountability, research, leadership, development and democracy, and organizational governance highlights her work in Zimbabwe’s girls’ and women’s rights movement for over 10 years. Kumbirai is passionate about facilitating sustainable development for women and children.


Evans Dakwa
Harare
Evans is a passionate journalist, youth programming and communications expert. A Patriot whose love for Zimbabwe and Africa is unquestionable.
